Carol had her second lesson today. I was demoted to crew.
What a great day. Carol skippered from leaving the dock, docking at the fuel dock, motoring out, sailing out of the creek, beating into the wind (at 7+ knots in 10-12 knots of wind!), returning to the dock wing and wing, and docking the boat (with the help of an instructor).
She did extremely well. Navigation skills are improving as are boat handling skills.
I need to build upper body strength. In spite of oversize winches, this is a lot of boat. I'm used to sailing a friend's smaller boat and the forces have increased exponentially. Every time I pulled a line that didn't move, I was reminded of that. Mechanical advantage is required, not suggested.
Sea Bird sails extremely well, much beyond my sailing ability. Guess I'll have to step up my game.
As always, pictures do not do justice. Here they are, anyway.

Tuning the rig while underway. Best time to do so.
We took a little green water over the bow. Forgot to close a port and got some things wet. Well...it's a boat...
I'm used to Lake Norman. Here you can go half a day on the same tack (without changing course).
Tomorrow? Don't know. Still basking in the glory that was today.
